Purpose – know what you want the company to look like after the transformation (and the most enlightening purpose involves more than just financial returns)
People – your best people for today might not be the best people for tomorrow. Be honest and realistic about who you need to reach your vision.
Paradox – some of your demands might seem to be at odds with each other. Look beyond that toward the final target and be ready to deal with ambiguity.
Persistence – change takes time. Prepare yourself and others for the journey, not just the destination.
