Designing Leaders started in 2010, providing consulting services to small and medium enterprises in the United States. It was “rebooted” in 2014 to provide the support that helps companies in the Asia-Pacific region develop their leadership talent.

We continue to help clients create a leadership culture based on sustainable growth, through in-person workshops, keynote talks, virtual programs, and 1-to-1 executive coaching.

Dr William Thomas leads our programs. Dr Thomas is a WCI Certified Professional Coach who is based in Singapore and has previously lived in Bangkok and Manila.

He is a retired US Air Force lieutenant colonel who has also been a professor at Georgetown University in Washington DC, the United States Air Force Academy, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He has a PhD in public policy with a focus on organizational culture and change.

During the last 15 years he has coached Chief HR Officers at large enterprises as Executive Advisor for CEB Corporate Leadership Council in Asia; provided geopolitical and macroeconomic advisory support to C-suite leaders as the Director of the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network for Singapore and Malaysia; and, oversaw Executive Development and Executive Onboarding in Asia-Pacific for Amazon Web Services.

Also an international endurance athlete, he is one of the few people in the world to complete The Marathon Grand Slam: running a marathon on all 7 continents and at the North Pole.

As a coach, a seminar leader, and a keynote speaker, he offers a rich history of experiences and extensive research into leadership in complex environments.
